No grocery shopping list... Don't go to the store.

Going to the store without a grocery shopping list is a recipe for disaster. Having a list will save you time and money. The easiest way to compile a list is throughout the week. Write down what you need when you run out of it rather than right before you are going to the store. We keep a simple dry erase board by the kitchen. When something needs to be on the list it goes on the dry erase board. We then simply transfer the items to the paper list. We use printed paper shopping list. But there are online lists as well that are very handy. Which ever your preference getting in the habit for using a list will help you stay on time, and stay on budget.
I am a fanatic about our budget. Not because we are always on budget, but rather we have a budget and I like to follow it (as best I can). Using and following a budget can be rather dull for some people (perhaps like a grocery list ) but I find it exciting. My favorite tool is the envelope budget system (Windows; version). It's easy to use and will help you keep that grocery list on budget.
And just in case you thing making a list is mundane and boring, think again…
grocery lists set to music.
